Sporocarps:- stalked, up to 1.5 mm tall. Sporothecae subglobose, basally flattened or umbilicate, shining, iridescent blue, often with violet or bronze reflections.
Hypothallus:- membranous, reddish-brown.

Columella:- cylindrical, obtuse, reaching to 66% of the height of the sporotheca.Capillitium:- of pale threads, usually pale brown or darker and then only in the middle, arising from the upper part of the columella and branched to form a dense reticulum, very slender towards the tips.Spore-mass black. Spores purplish-grey, minutely spinulose.Plasmodium white.Substrate:- dead wood.
