Brachyscome mittagongensis

Description: Perennial, rhizomatous herb with prostrate to ascending branches to 50 cm long, glabrous except for ocassional multicellular, conical hairs.

Leaves mainly glabrous, basal and cauline, alternate, most leaves sessile or subamplexicaule, except for the ocassional basal leaf with base-like petioles, narrow oblong or narrow elliptic, ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate, 11–38 mm long, 3.5–11mm wide, apices truncate and 3-tooothed.

Flowerheads subconical, areolate, glabrous; scapes exceeding the upper leaves; involuvre 6 mm diameter; bracts in one row, overlapping, ovate to lanceolate, 2.2–2.5 mm long, thinly herbaceous with hyaline margins. Ray florets c. 40, 8.5 mm long, white with 4 veins converging at apex. Disc florets c. 80, 5-lobed, yellow. Stamens 5.

Achenes flat, obovate, 1.3–1.5 mm long, lateral surfaces with two non-swollen ridges on each lateral surface and tuberculate with biseriate glandular hairs and multicellular hairs, uniformily brown.
