Psednura sp. (genus) (Psednura sedgehopper)

Family Pyrgomorphidae. Two species, P. pedestris and P. musgravei. Very similar morphologically but different ecologically.  Both are highly cryptic and are seen appressed to the stems of host plants. P. pedestris is found in wet coastal heatlands and swamps and is associated with jointed rushes (Restionaceae). P. musgravei is found in dry heathlands and woodlands on the coast and eastern ranges and tablelands where it is found on range of grasses, sedges and rushes. All sightings on Canberra Nature Map are of P. musgravei.
