As female Rose Robins are very challenging distinguish from some of the other female robins with certainity, I was wondering if you got photos of the bird from any other angle (eg. showing the white in the tail feathers to rule out pink robin) and the nest which you mentioned. Otherwise, did you photograph/see the male with this bird? Otherwise, I will leave this for Chris to make a call

Hi Ryu, I have posted another photo (not great) showing the underside of the tail. I identified the species on the advice of bird expert Elizabeth ? and John B who went back and observed her for some time a few days later.

I am having trouble with the two photos, as are others I have sent the images to. The general feeling is that it is not a Rose Robin. It is a young bird. If there is a faint hint of red on the forehead then Re-capped else Flame. My feeling is Flame. At this stage may need to go into the too hard basket.
