Was this growing near any exotic pine trees?

There are around 50 species of Suillus described worldwide, they form ectomycorrhizae with conifers and some deciduous species, but none are native to Australia. In Australia they are associated with introduced pine species. A key to a few of the species reported from Australia is available here: http://qldfungi.org.au/resources-2/fungi-keys/fungi-key-suillus I don’t know what this is, if it was Suillus luteus I would expect to see a ring or remnants of a ring on the stipe this is not present in your image. The way the stipe expands towards the ground is not something I’ve seen in species of Suillus I’m familiar with. I also can’t see any conifer needles in your images.
