While the variety here is not identified, the Bradford variety has a reputation for being prone to this sort of weak branching structure.
In the second photo, looking east, the boundary of the Mount Majura Nature Reserve is visible.

The large orbicular spot with another at the base of the forewing and the strongly banded frontal 'face' all suggest P. marginalis to me.
