Rabbits are starving, and are eating bark off privets. These look like young saplings but might need to wait for leaves (if at all) for confirmation.

As planted and on the edge of sports-fields, I am considering alternative species identification candidates' possibilities of exotic alien _Ficus_ spp. .

Really looks like _Ficus macrophylla_ and IMHO this remains the most likely species identification.
_Ficus macrophylla_ trees commonly get planted too, of course.

Yes looks like _Alphitonia excelsa_ or a different _Alphitonia_ species such as _A. petriei_ .

Confirming this does not identify to a _Ficus_ species.
For example check these photographs for _Ficus_ stipules, quite different to _Alphitonia_ stipules .
And yes are these leaves' undersides white ?

Added photo of the branchlets from one of the young trees, progeny of the original tree now shown in the third photo.
